Julia Aponte is a Wig and Makeup Design & Technology student at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She has developed her artistry through hands-on work in makeup design, prosthetic creation, and wig making, bringing characters to life across stage and screen.

Her specialty lies in prosthetics and makeup design, where she sculpts and applies pieces that fully transform performers into realized characters. Her main focus is crafting looks that connect directly to the story and the script, conveying emotion and personality through every detail. She also has experience in wig work, including refronting, foundation making, ventilating, and styling, as well as other aspects of hair and makeup design, giving her the versatility to approach each project creatively. Julia’s work blends careful, detailed technique with imagination, helping performers fully inhabit their roles.

In addition to her work in makeup and wig work, Julia has a strong background in photography. Her understanding of lighting, composition, and visual storytelling allows her to capture her designs in a way that highlights the character and brings her concepts to life.
